VIVA PIT SENYOR!!!!
VIVA PIT SENYOR!!!! Viva Pit Senior!!! Tomorrow is the feast of Senior Santo Niño! I have ideas gathered today. All what I saw are very colorful and very festive things. Today, I will tell you pre-sinulog experienced.Celebrating Sinulog is an annual tradition for us Cebuanos, as a tribute to Sr. Sto. Niño. There were lots of stories about the original Sto. Niño Image. I get curious about it, so I asked my father about it. I ask him about how the original image came here. The story goes like this, before, when the Spaniards came to Cebu, after sometime the Spaniards and the datu got a row. The Spaniards burned the house of the datu and inside it is the image of the Sto. Niño. After burning the house, all you can see are dust parcticles made by the fire done by the burning house. But the important question, What happened to the image? The people who survived the war were really amazed of what they saw, the most mysterious thing, the image was not harmed or even touched from its shelf, it just stood up from where he used to be!!! Isn't it very miraculous?Have you noticed that there are different kinds of images of Sto. Niño? Some are holding a cross, some are holding the earth, some are black, some are white and some many more. And again I became curious about the looks of Sto. Niño. So, I asked my dad again about such matter and where is it. He answered me that the real image was not the one placed at the front of the Sto. Niño parish, he told me that the real one was really kept on a very secure and secret place, so that no one could steal it. Truly, it is really something to be take good care of. It is the most important thing that we should keep of, not only externally but most all the internal aspect.January 21, 2007, I know, everybody are all excited on this day. Why not? It is the highlight of the Sinulog Festival!!! It is the grand mardigras!!! Oh yeah!and I should admit that even myself was very excited to witness the grand celebration. Before hand, I asked my parents to allow us to watch the parade at first, they were kinda hesitant to permit us. They just want us to watched the whole coverage in the television and beside, it was very very hot. But at the end, our convincing power still won. My sister and I really enjoyed the festival!!! Yeah true! well, it was very tiring yet it was very fun!!! Can you imagine walking from Mango Avenue to Fuente Osmeña rotunda, then back again. We did back and forth.Hehehe. Well, on that time..our mind was set on the crowd, the street dancing, the attractive and unique costumes and ofcourse the local artist who joined the parade, like Pedro Penduko- Matt Evans, Melanie Marquez and Angel Locsin. We never think that walking back and forth on that long kilometers was very very tiring. What's important for us, is that we enjoyed the parade. It's so overwhelming that everybody gave importance on the said festival. Everybody cooperates, you can see them dancing with the beat, screaming and yelling, singing, taking pictures..wow..how great it is.Not only cebuanos but also plenty of foreigners enjoyed the events. It only shows that Sinulog Festival is the best festival in the whole country. And we should be proud to be a Cebuano.
